| In the year 2013 a super-virus is released onto American soil. A previously unknown terrorist cell, calling themselves M.T.S., took responsibility for the attack. The United States government kept this information from the American public. As the mass majority of the public began getting sick, most thought that with the symptoms of psychosis and uncontrollable rage that the virus was a new rabies strain. Instead the virus attacked the brain and organs, halting the reproduction of white blood cells. This ceased the body’s ability to heal and it would begin to decompose at alarming rates. Even more startling was the fact that the body stayed animated after the person had died. As the dead continued to attack the living the virus was transferred through blood contact. Two thirds of the world population was wiped out in the matter of weeks. Survivors locked themselves away from the attacks and survived on emergency supplies or scavenging. A small portion of survivors were completely immune to the effects of the virus. These civilians became an elite group of zombie hunters whose main goal was to dismantle the Infected’s hold on humans and build a new civilization after the undead had been completely eradicated. The story begins here with the main focus on a group of “Hunters” and how they come to grips with their morbid reality and their moral responsibilities and how they struggle against overwhelming odds for the survival of the human race. It is one year after the first outbreak of the “zombie” virus. Survivors still linger across the landscape. A new world government organization has been assembled, featuring government leaders who survived from around the globe. This organization is called “The Counsel of Twelve” and they are the law makers for the new world. They lead the Hunters in their missions across the earth and keep tabs on all the military supply bases/survivor camps which are set up and operated on a global scale. One group of Hunters, which travel through the American Midwest, is led by an ex-SWAT officer named Kendel. This team is pressing through impossible odds to make it to their destination to stop the infected from reaching the very thing that could further doom the human race. This film takes you on their way through dangerous territory where loyalties are questioned, death is just a step away and heroes are born. |
